Jamey Whetstone is a native of Charleston, SC and here is a brief bio on him (written by Jamey himself :)): "I started working at Turley Wine Cellars in the summer of 1998 when I semi-jokingly told a friend I’d do just about anything for a shot at winemaking (be very careful what you ask for.). Over the following 6 & ½ years I would plant 30 acres of hillside vineyard, become fluent in Spanish, help manage over 200 organically farmed acres of grapes, become assistant winemaker, start my own label, and begin consulting full time. Turley provided for me a venue to do all those things with a continuing education in hands-on farming and meticulous, cutting-edge winemaking. To further enhance my small winery experience, I went to work in Burgundy for Domaine Dujac during a short stint in the summer of 2001."
