What top critics are saying:

"There's not much to say about 2010 that hasn't been intensely discussed already. It's almost universally regarded as one of the epic vintages of this generation, with growers comparing it to legendary years like 2005, 1990, 1978 and 1959.
- Steven Tanzer's Wine Access

"I place 2010 in the top three of my 40 years covering the Rhône, alongside the 1978 and the 1990"
- Decanter Magazine

"I can’t remember a vintage so concentrated, powerful and rich that also has such zesty acidity."
- Robert Parker' Wine Advocate

2010 Domaine la Janasse Cotes du Rhone

The first quote we placed above was made yesterday (Jan. 16th) by world renowned wine writer Josh Raynolds for Steve Tanzer's Wine Access Journal. It was given after he re-evaluated the 2010 Rhone's one year after his first tasting. After reading it, we decided to re-taste these amazing wines with you guys! We did our first 2010 Rhone Tasting last July and it was a smashing success. Now it is time to taste some more with a whole new lineup! We'll also have 2010's ranging in price from $9.99 to $149.99 so there will be a little something for everybody.

The last several vintages have been very kind to Southern Rhone producers, and yet the 2010 wines could best them all according to the wine glitterati. Domaine de la Janasse, Roger Sabon, Clos Saint Jean and Domaine Charvin in Chateauneuf-du-Pape are all the rage at the moment among the critics, and for good reason. They make utterly lush and delicious wines, and yet they are not wines that have sold their souls (ya know, with high alcohol, over-extraction, too much oak and the like) in order to get blessed from he-who-must-not-be-named. These wines are rich and impressive, but they not only retain their souls, they HAVE soul. Character. Personality. Whatever.

Maybe California Cabernet is your thing and you just are not that into wines from the Southern Rhone. Well, this is your chance to see what you have been missing. Maybe you are a huge fan of Chateauneuf. Well, this is your sweet spot. If you love wine, love good wine, love trying new things and love a good time - you may want to swing by on Saturday. If you do not like wine, do not like trying new things and do not enjoy a good time - this may not be up your alley :)

As always, THANK YOU for your business and we hope to see you Saturday. The wines should be off the charts.
