Given it is going to be 72 degrees outside, we have decided to go ahead and throw out our first white wine offering of the year - and it is a doozie.
One of the coolest wines you've never heard of, the Gramona Gessami bottling is a lip-smackingly dry blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Moscatel. Gramona is the best cava producer, period, but it turns out they can make lovely still wine too. We have been drinking this stuff for years, but it suffers a bit of an identity crisis. The bottle, the Gessami is in, is as tall as they come and people automatically assume the wine is going to be sweet, and tend to stay away. So we are here to tell you - ignore the crazy tall bottle and just trust us. If you love Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc (or even Conundrum) this is a must try. Also, as an added bonus, the label is in braille so should you find yourself searching your wine cabinet in a power outage you are guaranteed to find the right bottle.
