Many of you know that Gundlach Bundschu
is the brains behind our best selling wine, Rockus Bockus. What you may
not know, and we didn't until earlier this week, is that Rockus Bockus
has a big brother, and his name is Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvee.
A blend of Cab, Merlot, Cab Franc, Zin, Syrah, Petit Verdot and even a
whiff of Malbec, this is mostly from the great Rhinefarm Vineyard and it
is completely delicious (as one would expect). Where Rockus Bockus is
your Tuesday night wine, the Mountain Cuvee may be your Saturday night
wine - and this Saturday we'll let you take it out for a test drive,
absolutely free.

This wine arrived for the first
time a few years ago, and it caused quite a splash when it placed first
in a blind tasting of 2008 Caymus Special Select...you read that
correctly...first place. Borsao Berola was Rockus Bockus before
Rockus Bockus was the king slayer, taking down Silver Oak in a blind
tasting back in January (did that make sense? :)
All that said, we have never been able to offer this wine for $9.99. It
is a scary good wine at that price. Now, some of our competitors will
complain about low prices (really?) but this is what we love about our
jobs - we get to work out a deal where you get some insanely good wines
at some insanely good prices. Nothing to complain about with that.

tomorrow morning, November 1st, at 11am. We are located at 19400 Jetton Road Suite 204 right next to Brooklyn South
(at the corner of Jetton Road and W Catawba Ave in Cornelius). What to
expect - the lowest prices in North Carolina (and in many cases the
nation), the same great customer service (headed by the one and only Ian

The Rhone Valley has made utterly
delicious wines in the last several decades, and Domaine la Garrigue is
at the forefront of quality and value coming out of the region. "Cuvee
Hostellerie" is the house wine at Les Florets, a scrumptious restaurant
in Gigondas owned by the Bernard family, co-proprietors behind Domaine
la Garrigue with US based importer Eric Solomon.
Having never tasted this little guy before, we took a chance
on the 2009 vintage of this cuvee earlier this year and snapped up 28

the 2010 version of this wine, and it is every bit as luxurious as the
2009 and for $19.99 represents one of the best values in the Rhone
Valley.
