New Meyer Family Chardonnay!

2010 Meyer Family Chardonnay

Price: $23.99
SAVE 10% on mixed and matched cases!

One of the California's iconic wine brands, Meyer Family Cellars occupies a unique place in the story of CA wine. It was established in 1987 by Silver Oak founders and former owners Justin and Bonny Meyer, who dreamt of a family wine brand that drew upon their extensive experience in the Napa and Alexander Valleys.

Having been a red wine outfit in the past, now they have released a Chardonnay (only 200 cases produced) and it is AMAZING. Is it expensive? Well, it ain't exactly cheap. That being said, for less than $25 it is one of the highest quality California Chardonnays that we have tasted in a long time.

Given our support of the Meyer wines, we were able to grab 20 cases for you, our loyal customers. That is 10% of their entire production!

We'll throw a bottle up on the machine so you can taste this little dreamboat, but rest assured these cases won't last long.

The new ceramic bottle for Mer Soleil's unoaked Chardonnay is causing quite a stir in the wine world. Designed by Charlie Wagner, winemaker and owner at Mer Soleil, the bottle is intended to visually convey the cement tanks used in the fermenting and ageing of Silver Chardonnay. We've always loved the wine, and now we LOVE the packaging. If you match that with the fact we are bringing this wine to you at the lowest price available in the US, we're pretty sure this is a home run.

Guess the Varietal - Save 15%
Saturday August 27th, 2011
2pm-4pm

FREE Tasting!

http://www.drvino.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/blind_wine_tasting.jpg

Can you tell the difference between Cabernet and Pinot Noir? What about Zinfandel and Merlot? Now is the time to find out...

We do all sorts of blind tastings where you try and guess the price, or the wine (Caymus, Silver Oak etc.) but we have never done a blind tasting where you try and guess what grape varietal you are tasting. So, this Saturday, we are going to do our twist on the "Guess the correct grape varietal" blind tasting.

We'll have four wines out to taste for FREE, all blind, and you will have the opportunity to guess the grape varietal. Should you guess the grape varietal correctly, you will get a 15% discount on that wine - no questions asked! It should be a very simple yet very fun game. We blind taste all the time and most of the time we do not guess correctly - but for those few times that we do, bragging rights last a long, LONG time!

All in all we just want it to be a fun filled afternoon and who doesn't need a little vino now that school is back in session...we know we do!

We hope to see you Saturday and as always, thank you for your business!

Cheers!

31% Off Lyeth Sonoma Chardonnay

2009 Lyeth Chardonnay
http://cache.wine.com/labels/110136l.jpg

Regular Price: $12.99
SALE Price: $8.99 (net)
SAVE 31%

Sale runs Wednesday August 24th, 2011 - Sunday August 28th, 2011

Time to throw a little more love out there to all you California Chardonnay lovers. This Sonoma Coast Chard is more France than California with a crisp combination of green apple, pear, and honey flavors. There’s just enough Oak at the end to hint that it’s domestic, but if you want fruity and creamy Chardonnay without the taste of licking an Oak tree – this is the wine for you.

On their website, Lyeth says this wine pairs well with Dungeness crab....I mean, if they say so...we don't even know what that is...

In our minds, this wine pairs well with your best pals on the back patio as the weather cools down. Throw in some pimento cheese and pistachio nuts for good measure!

As always, thank you for your business!

The Prisoner vs. The World Taste Off!

The Prisoner vs. The World
Saturday August 20th, 2011
11am - 8pm

http://www.kenswineguide.com/images_wine/Orin-Swift-2008-Prisoner.gif VS. http://www.propergandaonline.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/everyone-else.jpg?w=300

Featuring:
2009 Orin Swift "The Prisoner"
2009 Twenty Bench Cabernet
2006 St. Supery "Elu" Cabernet
2009 Michael David "Petite Petit"
2008 Jeff Runquist Petite Sirah
2007 Ladera Napa Valley Cabernet
2009 Tierra Divina "Reds"
2008 Klinker Brick Zinfandel
2006 Ferrer Bobet Priorat

and a few other surprises!

Many many times we hear from customers, "Orin Swift "The Prisoner" is the best wine in the world under $35." Let's be honest, that is a pretty bold statement. We thought about it a little more and decided to have a tasting this Saturday where we put The Prisoner up against a slew of wines from all over the world, all under $35, that we think could potentially give it a run for its money. All the wines will be up on our tasting machine and we will allow each person tasting one chance to vote for their favorite. Once we tally up all the votes, we will release the winner next week in an e-mail.

This should be a fairly revealing tasting...we know we are excited to taste all of these beasts next to each other so we can come to our own conclusions. Is The Prisoner simply universally loved by all? Does it have no detractors? I guess we will find out this weekend!!

We hope to see you on Saturday and as always, thank you for your business!

Cheers,
The team @ winestore.

The 2009 Cycles Clement Pinot Noir is for all of you California Pinot drinkers...you know, those of you who enjoy a little extra fruit power in your Pinot. For $9.99 this stuff is the real deal!

We'll have it on the machines today through the weekend for you to taste...just in case you don't trust us :)

Best of the best!

The 10 Best Sellers of 2011!
10% OFF the top 10 best sellers by the bottle!
Friday August 12th - Sunday August14th, 2011

http://autorepairservice.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/best.jpg

People love best sellers lists...just ask the people over at the New York Times. That is why we are once again going to highlight our top 10 best selling wines of 2011 and as a bonus we're going to be offering a 10% discount off any of the top 10 by the bottle*. We spend an enormous amount of time individually selecting each of the wines we sell at winestore - and this weekend you'll be able to taste the 10 wines that your peers have selected as their favorites. There will be a little something for everyone - Chardonnay, Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Mouvedre, Grenache and much more. Regardless of what type of grape you like you'll be able to try the wine from that taste category that all your friends have been gobbling up by the truck load all year long.

Unfortunately we can't list the top ten in this e-mail (our competition would have a field day with that information - we can't make it that easy for them!) but we will have them displayed in the store and up on the machines for you to try.

So come beat the heat this weekend and see what all the fuss is about. Maybe some of your favorites made the top 10 - or maybe you're about to stumble upon your new house wine! Either way we promise a good time while you sip and shop!

We sincerely appreciate your business and as always, we are here to serve you. We hope to see you this weekend!

Cheers,
The team @ winestore.

*The 10% discount applies to any purchase of any of the top 10 best cellars up to 11 bottles - then normal case discounts apply.

These mystery tastings have been a big hit as of late - and we have another one for you that is out of this world. Per the usual, we're not allowed to publicly tell you what the wine is going to be (you're going to have to come into the store and see for yourself!), but what we can tell you is that the savings are monumental, the winery is one of the oldest names in Napa, the vintage is awesome, and the juice is outstanding. Not enough to get you excited? How about this:

Right now, competitors like Wine.com are selling this wine for $77.99 per bottle - our six pack price is $39.99 - a savings of 49%. The wine also comes in a really cool wooden six pack - which we love...

So yes, this Saturday we are tasting a mystery wine - and while it's not exactly priced at what we would call an "everyday drinker", any time we can buy a 300 acre farm for the price of a double wide - we jump all over it.

Swing in this Saturday from 2-4pm, drink some amazing juice, maybe buy a bottle to share with your honey on Saturday night and above all else, have a great time.

ALSO AVAILABLE

2007 Ladera Napa Valley Cabernet

This wine arrived for the first time back in February, and caused quite a splash when it placed first in a blind tasting of 2008 Caymus Special Select. The splash was large enough that we sold every last bottle in the State of NC in a matter of weeks! Fast forward to last Friday and the wine is FINALLY back in stock! To celebrate the return of this under $15 gem, we're putting it on sale for only $12.99 per bottle through this Sunday.

If you have been waiting for it's return (and based on the hundreds of requests we get for this wine per week that would encompass a large number of you) your ship has come in! If you have never tried this full bodied show stopper then come on in and grab a bottle!
