One team member here at Winestore will be getting married this weekend and we wanted to celebrate with all of you, our valued customers, by offering 15% off any mixed or full cases all weekend long. We'll have special close-outs on our table, special wines on the machine to taste, and our already lowest prices in the state will be headed even lower.

So it's nearing the official end of summer - let's celebrate with some good wine, mix in some good friends, and take it easy on our pocketbook with some significant savings.

As always, thank you for your business and we'll see you this weekend!

2006 Joseph Phelps Insignia

Even if your passion for wine stops at the glass on your dinner table, you probably have still heard of the wines from Joseph Phelps and Doug Shafer. They are names that wine lovers worship - Insignia, Hillside Select and so on...These guys produce some of the most sought after wine coming out of California.

Back in May we put wines from two other celebrity winemakers - Bob Foley and Paul Hobbs - up on the machine for a taste off and not only was it a ton of fun, it gave us a great excuse to taste some pretty amazing wine.

That is why, back by popular demand, it is time for the 2nd annual Doug Shafer and Shafer Vineyards vs. Joseph Phelps and Joseph Phelps Wines Taste Off!!
We'll even be featuring the California Icon Joseph Phelps "Insignia" for you to taste (I mean, for $150 a bottle this stuff better be rocking!)

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday and, as always, thank you for your support!

If the Price is Right Save 15%!

Play the Price is Right
Saturday August 14th, 2010
11am- 8pm

http://www.scandigital.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/price-is-right.jpghttp://www.drvino.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/blind_wine_tasting.jpg

We've decided to try something a little different this Saturday - a little bit of a twist on our traditional blind tastings. Most people say they can tell if a wine is more expensive simply based on the taste. Well, this weekend you're going to get to test that theory with a little game of The Price is Right! (Unfortunately we could not fit a Plinko board into the store, so we're simply going to have to settle with using the tasting machines).

Eight red wines and four white wines will all be covered up blind, and each will be the same price to taste $0.75. You will then be given a sheet with 12 different prices on it to use as your guide. If you can match the correct price to the correct wine you will get 15% off each wine guessed correctly! Your 15% discount will apply to as much as you would like to buy of that particular wine.

At the very least we think this will be a ton of fun. We've done plenty of blind tastings where we thought that $50 Cab was a $12 daily drinker...so we know how fun it is to guess completely wrong. If, however, you guess correct - your pocketbook is going to be thanking you!!

The Best Selling Wines of 2010

The 10 Best Sellers of 2010!
10% OFF the top 10 best sellers by the bottle!
Friday August 6th - Sunday August 8th, 2010

http://autorepairservice.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/best.jpg

People love best sellers lists...just ask the people over at the New York Times. That is why we are once again going to highlight our top 10 best selling wines of 2010 and as a bonus we're going to be offering a 10% discount off any of the top 10 by the bottle*. We spend an enormous amount of time individually selecting each of the wines we sell at winestore - and this weekend you'll be able to taste the 10 wines that your peers have selected as their favorites. There will be a little something for everyone - Chardonnay, Cabernet, Albarino, Petite Sirah and much more. Regardless of what type of grape you like you'll be able to try the wine from that taste category that all your friends have been gobbling up by the truck load all year long.

Unfortunately we can't list the top ten in this e-mail (our competition would have a field day with that information - we can't make it that easy for them!) but we will have them displayed in the store and up on the machines for you to try. You'll also be happy to know that the average price for these beauties is a VERY friendly $9.99 per bottle.

So come beat the heat this weekend and see what all the fuss is about. Maybe some of your favorites made the top 10 - or maybe you're about to stumble upon your new house wine! Either way we promise a good time while you sip and shop!

We sincerely appreciate your business and as always, we are here to serve you. We hope to see you this weekend!

Cheers,
The Team @ Winestore.

*The 10% discount applies to any purchase of any of the top 10 best cellars up to 11 bottles - then normal case discounts apply.

The Next Orin Swift "The Prisoner"?

2007 Banknote Napa Valley Red Blend
http://www.parkaveliquor.com/parkave/image_path/30409/normal/Banknote.jpg

Regular Price: $39.99 per bottle
Winestore Price: $29.99 per bottle
Case Price: $24.99 per bottle
SAVE 37%

As big fans of Orin Swift "The Prisoner", we have been looking for the next big thing to come along and give us some major WOW factor. A few days ago, this 2007 (a great vintage in Napa) blend of 44% Zinfandel, 35% Syrah and 21% Cabernet came across our desk at close out pricing. One taste and it was "go time!" We're pretty convinced that fans of the Prisoner will absolutely love this wine, and enjoy the much friendlier price tag! The wine is rich (no pun intended), with that huge in your face fruit that many consumers have learned to love.

Less than 800 cases were produced and we have less than 12 cases in stock. The labels are fragments of old banknotes and railroad bonds done in a style from the 19th century - and each case has 12 different bankote labels!

The wine will be on the machine at both stores to try all weekend (until we run out which we anticipate will be soon!).
